Muse: Betty's Summer OOTD

So as mentioned in my last post, I said I would do a series of illustrations of Miss Betty of Le Blog de Betty. I decided to pick three outfits she wore this summer. Betty's one of my favorite style bloggers. She really stands out to me because she's true to her authentic look. It's chic, cute, and spontaneous at the same time which makes her so appealing and interesting to look at. She leaves you wanting more. You just never know what she'll have on next...! I especially love her adventures, not to mention the food she photographs.. wow. She's a true foodie <3

Work Mode

I've been building up a long list of muses of people to illustrate and it's about time I get to them! I don't profit much from my account on Society6, but I still want to keep that going because I love all the produce you can develop out of your artwork :) I'm trying to decide if I should get on the Etsy wagon...why not? I also decided I needed to revamp my illustrations each time I sketch. I'm taking this week off to do as much as I can and hopefully have a shop opened soon {gotta come up with a deadline!}

Hope you like what I have so far...! The first one is a series of one of my favorite style muses, Sophia Amoruso of Nasty Gal. She's such a doll.. I admire her so much especially after watching her interview about her success story! Watch it here! The second illustration is from a photograph I pulled from my Pinterest. A lot of the pictures I pin of dance, ballet, tribal looks, and yoga will most likely be included in my illustrations.

Spanish Batiste

Lately my favorite shopping hot spots have been at boutiques on Melrose and on Santee Alley. I've been slowly straying away from shopping at malls and from major labels now because everything I see are the same {boooo}. Top notch fashion bloggers all wear the same trending pieces and outfits, and it's just not so inspiring to me anymore. They wear the same designers around the same time I noticed.. And it gets boring {to me at least}. In these little mom and pop stores you just never know what you can find! And sometimes they set the trend for the bigger names in fashion. I found this perfect summer dress on Santee Alley and fell in love with the color and design. This style definitely reminded me of a Spanish flamenco dress. This is like getting in touch with my roots! I used to take a Flamenco class back in high school.. I just need to throw on my character shoes and, voila! Tap, tap, tappity tap!
